Your product’s route into India’s biggest buyer.
The Government e-Marketplace is where central and state departments, PSUs and defense buyers source products directly. We handle OEM onboarding, reseller registration and authorization codes so you can start bidding on government demand — not just navigating a portal.
What GeM Actually Is
The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is India’s official online procurement platform. Ministries, PSUs, state departments and defense buyers use it to source everything from electronics to industrial equipment — one of the country’s largest and most consistent B2G demand channels.
Why It Matters for Overseas Brands
You don’t need an Indian manufacturing base to sell through GeM — you need an OEM listing and, usually, an authorized Indian reseller who can fulfil and deliver locally. Many of our clients start their India presence through GeM before setting up any local entity.
Certifications Still Apply
Listing on GeM never waives an underlying regulatory requirement. If your product category needs BIS, WPC or another certification to be sold in India at all, that approval has to be in place before or during onboarding.
Four reasons brands prioritise GeM early
Direct Access to Public Buyers
No distributor tender relationships needed — departments discover and purchase directly from your GeM listing.
Standardised, Transparent Process
Pricing, specifications and buyer requirements are published upfront — less back-and-forth than traditional tendering.
Credibility Signal
An active GeM listing with a vendor assessment on file is often read as a trust signal by private B2B buyers too.
Steady, Recurring Demand
Government procurement runs on annual budget cycles — a well-managed listing generates repeat business, not one-off orders.

GeM Portal Registration GeM
End-to-end seller account setup on the Government e-Marketplace — entity verification, PAN/GST linkage, bank details, and category/catalogue configuration so your account is bid-ready, not just created.
OEM Registration GeM · OEM
Original Equipment Manufacturer onboarding — list products under your own brand, complete the mandatory RITES vendor assessment covering manufacturing capability and quality systems, and issue authorization codes to your Indian resellers.
Reseller Registration GeM · Reseller
Onboarding for entities selling another brand’s products on GeM using an OEM-issued authorization code — the standard route for overseas manufacturers working through an Indian distribution partner.
GeM Authorization Code GeM
Issuance and management of the OEM authorization code that legally permits a reseller to list and sell your brand’s products on GeM — including renewals as reseller relationships expand or change.
Which GeM role fits your business
This is the first decision most overseas brands need to make before registering.
| Factor | OEM Registration | Reseller Registration |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | The brand owner / manufacturer | An Indian entity selling another brand’s products |
| Vendor assessment | Mandatory RITES assessment required | Not required directly — relies on the OEM’s assessment |
| Authorization code | Issues codes to appointed resellers | Must hold a valid OEM-issued code to list |
| Best suited for | Brands wanting direct control of listings & pricing | Overseas manufacturers without an India entity yet |
| Typical next step | Appoint one or more Indian resellers | Request an authorization code from the OEM |
